Therapist Nhu Truong Launches Grief Therapy Practice Focused on Millennials and Gen Z

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Nhu Truong is expanding her Irvine, California-based practice to offer grief therapy services tailored to Millennials and Gen Z adults. The new focus addresses complicated grief stemming from non-death losses, including friendship breakups, relationship endings, and identity shifts.

Truong's approach broadens the traditional definition of grief beyond bereavement. She notes that many clients experience deep loss from changes in relationships, self-perception, or life expectations. "Grief is all around us," Truong said. "Not just bereavement, but this sense of deep loss. A loss of yourself, a loss of what you expected your future to be, a loss of sincerity and connection. It almost seems like a collective grief where the life you envisioned for yourself no longer exists."

The practice aims to provide a compassionate space for younger adults navigating rapid cultural and social change. According to Truong, these generations often face overwhelming feelings from the pace of modern life and seek reconnection with themselves and their communities.

Specialties include traditional bereavement, friendship breakups, relationship loss, identity shifts, and therapy for undefined or diffuse senses of loss. Truong, a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Supervisor, sees clients Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. She welcomes individuals ready to address what she describes as "that overwhelming cloud" of grief.

More information about the practice is available at www.nhutruongtherapy.com. Truong can also be reached directly at Nhulmft@gmail.com.

This expansion highlights a growing recognition of grief that extends beyond death. For Millennials and Gen Z, losses such as friendship endings or identity changes can be as profound as bereavement. By offering specialized support, Truong's practice addresses a gap in mental health services for these age groups.
