ROS® and FranMan Release Updated Franchise Recruitment Manual

Recruitment Operating System (ROS®) has announced the release of its updated and expanded Franchise Recruitment Manual, a comprehensive resource for franchise recruitment teams. The manual, created in collaboration with FranMan, a leader in professional operating manuals, integrates proven recruitment principles with modern tools and best practices. This marks the first significant update since 2021, reflecting the evolution of the franchise recruiting landscape.

Art Coley, founder and CEO of ROS®, emphasized that while the fundamentals of franchise recruitment remain unchanged, the tools and technology available to recruiters have advanced. “What has changed are the tools, data, and technology available to recruiters. Our job is to bring those pieces together without making recruitment more complicated,” he said. The updated manual aims to make an already powerful resource even more relevant to how top-performing recruiters operate today.

The ROS® Franchise Recruitment Manual has long served as a practical framework for franchise sales and development teams, outlining the role and responsibilities of recruiters and guiding them through ROS®’s proprietary 8-Step recruitment process. However, the process and pace of franchise recruiting have significantly evolved, prompting the need for an update. Recruiters now have access to expanded datasets, AI-driven technologies, and more sophisticated candidate intelligence, all at their fingertips. The latest edition combines timeless recruitment principles with the latest tools and best practices to help recruiters perform at the highest level.

Key updates in the manual include recruitment analytics, which teaches recruiters to use data and performance metrics to understand their pipeline and make informed decisions. The manual also incorporates practical best practices for using artificial intelligence responsibly, expands on the daily, weekly, and monthly behaviors of high-performing recruiters, and provides guidance on recruiting various types of franchise buyers, including multi-unit, institutional, and portfolio candidates. Additionally, it strengthens advice on candidate funding, expands best practices for FDD and the recruitment process, and explores modern learning and content integration with ROS Academy™ and other digital resources.

Lennon Coley, VP of Analytics at ROS®, highlighted the importance of analytics in the updated manual. “Historically, we’ve been very clear in our belief that analytics shouldn’t be limited to what you can access in an executive report - the information is far too valuable,” he said. The expanded guidance ties analytics directly to recruiter behaviors and execution, representing a significant step forward.

The ROS® Franchise Recruitment Manual advances the recruiting industry’s best practices, policies, operations, and standards. While it remains faithful to the industry’s bedrock principles, the new additions account for the latest developments in procedures, tools, resources, and techniques, offering franchise recruitment professionals a holistic approach to continuous improvement.
