Marygold Companies to Sell Printstock Unit, Sharpening Focus on Financial Services

The Marygold Companies, Inc. (NYSE American: MGLD), a diversified global holding firm, announced that its subsidiary Gourmet Foods Limited has signed a definitive agreement to sell Printstock Products Limited to TAG Investments Limited, a New Zealand-based private investment firm. The cash transaction is valued at a minimum of NZ$2,450,000, with final proceeds to be determined at closing. Structured as an asset sale, the deal is expected to complete on or about November 20, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions such as due diligence, lease assignment, and inventory valuations.

Printstock, based in Napier, New Zealand, is a digital printer of custom food packaging for brands primarily distributed in New Zealand. The sale is part of Marygold’s broader corporate transformation to focus on its financial services sector, which now accounts for more than half of the company’s consolidated revenues. “The transaction is in keeping with our corporate transformation and initiative to focus on our financial services sector,” said Nicholas Gerber, Chief Executive Officer. “We expect to record a gain on the sale as the transaction reflects the success of our original investment in 2020.”

Gourmet Foods, acquired by Marygold in 2015, is a commercial-scale bakery producing iconic meat pies and pastries under the brands Pat’s Pantry and Ponsonby Pies. It acquired Printstock in 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to individually wrap its products in compliance with health regulations. Currently listed as discontinued operations due to its held-for-sale status, Gourmet Foods will continue normal operations with Marygold’s support while new ownership is sought.

The sale is expected to generate a gain for Marygold, underscoring the success of its 2020 investment. Printstock’s experienced management and staff are anticipated to remain with the new owner. For readers and investors, this move highlights Marygold’s strategic pivot toward financial services, potentially leading to a more streamlined and profitable operation. The company’s financial services subsidiaries include USCF Investments, Marygold & Co., and Step-By-Step Financial Planners, with operations in the U.S., New Zealand, and the U.K.
