The June 2026 Wellness Index Report from Wellness Eternal's Biohacking Index reveals a significant shift in consumer health priorities, moving beyond the pursuit of longevity toward a more integrated approach that addresses root causes of discomfort, emotional well-being, and human connection. Based on verified practitioner and user feedback across the wellness and biohacking industry, the report identifies three key trends defining this new chapter: personalized diagnostics, non-pharmaceutical pain management, and a return to mental wellness and community.
According to the report, consumers are increasingly seeking to understand why they feel the way they do, rather than simply aiming to live longer. Personalized diagnostics, once reserved for elite clinics, are becoming mainstream, with tools like biological-age testing and data-driven personalization helping individuals uncover root causes of fatigue, inflammation, and poor sleep. The report highlights Generation Lab, co-founded by UC Berkeley bioengineering professor Dr. Irina Conboy, as a leader in this space. Its SystemAge test measures biological aging across 460 biomarkers and 21 organs from a single at-home blood sample, providing a personalized action plan to target aging at its source.
Another major trend is the rising demand for non-pharmaceutical pain management. Consumers are actively seeking drug-free options for recovery and relief, from targeted bodywork to advanced regeneration tools. The report notes that at-home and practitioner-guided recovery is one of the fastest-growing categories. Lifespan Edge, co-founded by Dr. Michael Roizen and entrepreneur John Mauldin, exemplifies this trend with its physician-led Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) protocol, which filters inflammatory proteins from the bloodstream to target inflammation, cognition, and cellular resilience. With clinics across the United States and Puerto Rico, the company is building one of the largest TPE datasets in the field.
The third trend underscores a return to human connection, purpose, and mental wellness as core pillars of health. The report finds that as the wellness industry matured, the pursuit of optimization sometimes overshadowed emotional resilience and community. Nefense, founded by Dr. Richard "Rick" Downs, focuses on the foundational role of breathing in overall health. Its products, including HypoNasal and XyloClean, use natural molecules like hypochlorous acid and xylitol to support nasal health, which is critical for better sleep and overall well-being. Better breathing is not a luxury, the report emphasizes, but the base of better health.
"For a long time the conversation was about adding years," said Lindsay O'Neill-O'Keefe, Founder of Wellness Eternal and the Biohacking Index. "What we're seeing now is people asking for those years to actually feel good. They want to understand the root cause, manage pain without a prescription, and reconnect with the things that make life worth extending." The report concludes that the future of wellness lies in an integrated model combining personalized diagnostics, preventive strategies, emotional resilience, non-pharmaceutical pain management, and human connection into a single approach.
