The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and electronicAsia, jointly organized by the HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Ltd, opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Running for four consecutive days, the twin fairs showcase innovations spanning consumer electronics, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, smart living, immersive entertainment, electronic components, and advanced manufacturing technologies. With over 3,200 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions, the fairs provide a one-stop sourcing and networking platform for global buyers. The debut of the Future Industries Zone spotlights five frontier sectors: Future Computing, Future Manufacturing, Future Marine & Quantum Technologies, Future Microelectronics, and Future Wellness.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Sophia Chong, HKTDC Executive Director, said the zone reflects the HKTDC's commitment to evolving its fairs alongside the industry and supporting Hong Kong's development as an international innovation and technology centre. The HKTDC is a statutory body established in 1966 to promote Hong Kong's trade, and it organizes international exhibitions, conferences, and business missions to create opportunities for companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises. The HKTDC also provides market insights through trade publications and research reports.
The Future Industries Zone, jointly organized by the HKTDC and the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association and supported by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, brings together more than 100 exhibitors led by major innovation and technology institutions including Cyberport, the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, and the Hong Kong Productivity Council. The zone features thematic forums and networking events with speakers from AWS, IBM, Lenovo, and HPE, among others. Additionally, the GoGlobal Connect Zone offers advisory services to help enterprises, particularly those from the Chinese Mainland, expand internationally through Hong Kong. This reflects the HKTDC's commitment to reinforcing Hong Kong's role as a superconnector and super value-adder.
