Branicks Group Creditors Approve Restructuring with 99% Vote, Extending Maturities to 2030

Branicks Group AG, a German listed specialist for office and logistics real estate, announced that holders of its 400 million euro corporate bond, originally due in 2026, voted 99% in favor of restructuring the company’s liabilities. The vote also endorses the financial restructuring plan developed by the company, marking a critical step in stabilizing its balance sheet and securing long-term operational flexibility.

The restructuring sets a new maturity date of September 30, 2030, for 375 million euros of debt arising from bonds, promissory note loans, and registered bonds, and September 30, 2028, for an additional 220 million euros. According to the release issued via NEWMEDIAWIRE, the company aims for the restructuring plan to take effect by the end of the 2026 fiscal year, or by March 31, 2027, at the latest, pending clarification of technical requirements in the coming weeks.

“Our creditors’ vote is a sign of confidence in our restructuring plan. With the time we've gained, we can now refocus fully on our business and use our resources and expertise to capitalize on opportunities in what remains a challenging market for us,” said Josef Schultheis, Chief Restructuring Officer at Branicks Group AG.

The implications for the commercial real estate sector are notable. Branicks manages properties with a market value of 10.1 billion euros across its Commercial Portfolio and Institutional Business segments as of June 30, 2026. By extending maturities, the company avoids near-term refinancing pressure and preserves its platform of nine offices in major German markets, including VIB Vermögen AG. For tenants, investors, and partners, the vote reduces uncertainty and supports continuity in property management and investment services. The 99% approval rate also signals strong creditor alignment, which can serve as a case study for other real estate firms navigating elevated interest rates and valuation adjustments.

In a related governance move, Branicks terminated consulting agreements by mutual agreement with MDC Matthias Danne Consulting GmbH and BLACKLAKE Management Partners GmbH, whose managing directors are Supervisory Board members Dr. Matthias Danne and Dr. Johannes Conradi, respectively. Both firms have notified the company that they have each entered into service agreements with a company financed by the creditors. This separation clarifies oversight and aligns advisory relationships with the creditor-backed restructuring framework.

Branicks, formerly DIC Asset AG, has over 25 years of experience and is listed in the Prime Standard of the German Stock Exchange. The company emphasizes sustainability, holding top positions in ESG ratings such as Morningstar Sustainalytics and S&P Global CSA, and is a signatory to the UN Global Compact and UN PRI network. Its properties have earned DGNB, LEED, or BREEAM certificates. For more details, the company directs stakeholders to www.branicks.com. The full release is available at www.newmediawire.com.
