The Trauma Resource Institute (TRI) will host its first annual international conference and celebrate its 20th anniversary from October 2 to 4, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Claremont in Claremont, California. The event will be available both in person and virtually, welcoming participants from around the world. With the theme “Rooted in Well-Being, Planted in Community, Cultivated by Hope,” the conference will convene TRI’s diverse global community of natural leaders, educators, practitioners, researchers, community partners, and individuals interested in resilience-based work. No previous TRI training or experience is required to attend, making the gathering accessible to longtime members, trained practitioners, and those discovering TRI for the first time.
TRI’s international network now extends across all 50 U.S. states and more than 77 countries, underscoring the broad reach of its trauma-informed and resiliency-focused approach. This milestone event provides an opportunity for that global community to reflect on two decades of impact, deepen connections, and explore new possibilities for expanding the work worldwide. Over the three-day gathering, participants will explore the application of the Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® and Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)® across different communities, professional settings, and populations. Programming will include presentations, discussions, interactive learning opportunities, and practical tools that participants can incorporate into their own work and communities.
Conference experiences and conversations will cover real-world applications of CRM and TRM across diverse settings and populations, emerging research and innovative resiliency-focused programs, community-based initiatives addressing trauma and chronic stress, practical tools and interactive learning opportunities, and meaningful collaboration with practitioners, educators, and partners from around the world. Both CRM and TRM are designed to help people understand the biological effects of trauma and chronic stress while learning skills that support balance and well-being. The conference will highlight how these models are being used to strengthen individuals and communities in culturally responsive and accessible ways.
In addition to the main conference programming, TRI will hold a 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, October 3. Separate tickets are required for the gala. The conference will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Claremont, located at 555 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont, CA 91711. Virtual attendees will be able to access conference programming through the Whova online platform. The deadline for in-person registration is September 10, 2026, while virtual registration will remain open through September 30, 2026. The significance of this conference extends beyond a single event. As trauma and chronic stress continue to affect communities worldwide, TRI’s evidence-informed models offer practical, scalable approaches to building resilience. By bringing together a global network, the conference aims to accelerate the adoption of trauma-informed practices in schools, healthcare settings, community organizations, and beyond. For the Long Beach area and surrounding region, the event provides local access to international expertise and a chance to connect with a worldwide community of practice.
