Readcrest Capital AG Reports Strong First Half 2026 Results and Expands Home Care Business

Readcrest Capital AG, a listed company focused on real estate and special-situations investments, reported its financial results for the first half of 2026, showcasing significant growth and strategic expansion. The company increased its consolidated revenue by 1.6% to EUR 65.3 million, up from EUR 64.3 million in the same period last year. Including a gain of EUR 29.4 million from the sale of its U.K. care home business, net income for the period surged to EUR 24.9 million, compared to EUR 0.4 million in the prior-year period. Earnings per share rose to EUR 0.71, a substantial improvement from EUR 0.01 last year.

The revenue growth was driven almost entirely by home care services in the U.K., which benefited from increases in local authority hourly rates effective April 1, 2026, as well as acquisitions made since November 2025. The sale of the U.K. care home business, completed on April 17, 2026, resulted in a net cash inflow of GBP 38.5 million (EUR 44.3 million). Proceeds were used to repay bank loans of GBP 30.0 million (EUR 34.4 million). Combined with the conversion of a portion of a mandatory convertible bond amounting to EUR 16.4 million, net financial liabilities decreased from EUR 180.1 million to EUR 123.5 million. Cash and cash equivalents doubled to EUR 20.3 million.

After the balance sheet date, Readcrest further expanded its home care business with three additional acquisitions in England and Scotland. The company also established a third business division for light industrial real estate in Germany by acquiring a majority stake in RC Industrie Immobilien SE. These transactions are not yet reflected in the half-year financial statements. In the real estate project development segment, construction on projects in Schwerin and Halle is scheduled to begin in 2027.

This news matters for the Long Beach, California area and beyond because it highlights the ongoing consolidation and investment activity in the healthcare services sector, particularly in home care. As populations age, demand for home care services continues to rise, and companies like Readcrest are positioning themselves to meet that demand through strategic acquisitions and operational improvements. The sale of the care home business and subsequent debt reduction also demonstrate a focus on financial stability, which could attract further investment and lead to expanded services. For local businesses and investors, Readcrest's move into light industrial real estate in Germany may signal broader trends in real estate diversification. The company's financial calendar includes upcoming events such as the Munich Capital Market Conference 2026 on November 11 and the German Equity Forum in Frankfurt am Main on November 23, which may provide further insights into its strategy.
