NVIRIQ Launches Rubicon HVAC Platform, Promising 30-40% Energy Savings and Built-In Analytics

Scottsdale-based startup NVIRIQ Inc has officially launched the Rubicon commercial HVAC platform, a line of hyper-efficient rooftop units (RTUs) designed to replace conventional systems with advanced technology that promises significant energy savings and real-time performance monitoring. The Rubicon platform, now available in 6-ton and 10-ton configurations, is assembled in the USA and offers a direct replacement for standard commercial RTUs, eliminating the need for redesigns or major structural changes.

At the core of the Rubicon system is a patented thermal collector that works in tandem with a variable-speed inverter heat pump to deliver average energy savings of 30 to 40 percent compared to traditional rooftop units. The 10-ton model achieves a peak efficiency rating of up to 31 IEER, and the entire line boasts a heating coefficient of performance (COP) of 6. Each unit comes equipped with a live cloud dashboard that provides real-time data on energy usage, system health, and maintenance needs, allowing building owners to address potential issues before they escalate into costly emergencies.

Devin Cooley, President and Co-Founder of NVIRIQ, emphasized the transformative nature of the product. "Commercial building owners have been stuck with the same outdated HVAC playbook for decades," Cooley said. "When a rooftop unit dies in the middle of a summer heatwave, the answer shouldn't be 'call your contractor and replace it with the same thing.' Rubicon was built to break that cycle. It's a system that pays for itself, tells you when it needs attention, and qualifies for serious federal incentives. This isn't just an equipment upgrade. It's an upgrade to the way you think about your roof."

The Rubicon platform includes several key features aimed at reducing operational costs and improving efficiency. The NTX-32 thermal collector integrates directly with the RTU, providing 1 to 4 hours of daily thermal storage and up to 72,000 BTUs of supplemental capacity per collector. This capability reduces peak demand and operational strain without requiring batteries. The built-in analytics and predictive diagnostics allow facility managers to monitor performance remotely, receive proactive maintenance alerts, and track energy consumption in real time.

Financially, Rubicon systems qualify for a 40 percent federal tax credit under current clean energy incentive programs, which can significantly offset the initial investment. NVIRIQ also offers zero-down-payment financing options, enabling commercial building owners to upgrade without tying up capital. Each unit is backed by a comprehensive 5-year parts and labor warranty, with parts readily available to minimize downtime.

First installations are already underway in California and Arizona. Pilot projects include a facility in Sacramento, CA, operated by a local contractor, and a 20-year-old printing business near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. These deployments will serve as real-world proof points for the technology as NVIRIQ expands its national footprint.

The Rubicon platform is designed for owners and operators of commercial office, retail, industrial, quick-service restaurant, convenience store, and mixed-use properties, particularly those with triple-net or owner-occupied arrangements. NVIRIQ manages the entire sales and installation process through a network of trained contractors, simplifying the transition to next-generation HVAC technology. "We're making this as easy as possible," Cooley added. "You shouldn't have to be an HVAC expert to get a better system. We handle it end to end, so you can get back to running your business."

With its patented thermal collector, cloud-based analytics, and potential for substantial energy savings, the Rubicon platform represents a significant advancement in commercial climate control, offering a viable path to reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
