Nordex Group Secures 77 MW Wind Turbine Order for Romania's Urleasca Wind Farm

The Nordex Group has received an order from Swedish renewable energy company OX2 to supply and install 11 N175/6.X turbines for the Urleasca wind farm in Romania. The contract, which includes a 35-year Premium Service agreement, covers a total installed capacity of 77 MW. The wind farm is located near the village of Urleasca in Brăila County, approximately 150 kilometers northeast of Bucharest in southeastern Romania.

In a parallel development, OX2 has sold the ready-to-build Urleasca project to Scatec ASA, a Norwegian renewable energy solutions provider. OX2 will oversee the entire construction phase, which is scheduled to commence in Q3 2026, with commissioning planned for the second half of 2028. The Urleasca wind farm holds a long-term Contract-for-Difference (CfD) with the Romanian State, providing revenue stability.

This order strengthens the Nordex Group's position in Romania, where the company has contracted more than 500 MW in the last months. Slava Feklin, Country Manager Romania and Ukraine of the Nordex Group, expressed delight in further strengthening transnational cooperation with OX2. He noted that Romania continues to offer attractive opportunities for modern wind energy technology, and by combining OX2's international project development expertise with Nordex's latest N175/6.X technology, the companies will deliver efficient and competitive renewable electricity to the Romanian market.

The N175/6.X turbine is part of Nordex's product portfolio focused on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ classes, designed to meet market requirements in regions with limited space and constrained grid capacity. The 35-year Premium Service agreement ensures long-term operational support and maintenance, underscoring the commitment to the project's longevity.

OX2 is a leading renewable energy developer with a portfolio of about 33 GW across onshore and offshore wind, solar, and storage. The company operates in five European markets and Australia, and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. OX2 is owned by EQT, one of the world's largest private equity investors. More information about OX2 can be found at www.ox2.com.

The Nordex Group has commissioned more than 64 GW of wind power capacity in over 40 markets since 1985 and generated consolidated sales of around EUR 7.6 billion in 2025. The company employs more than 11,100 people and has manufacturing facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, Türkiye, and the USA. Nordex SE is listed on the MDAX and TecDAX of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ISIN: DE000A0D6554).

This order highlights the continued growth of renewable energy in Romania and the broader European market. The Urleasca wind farm will contribute to Romania's energy transition, providing clean electricity to the grid and supporting the country's climate goals. The involvement of multiple international companies underscores the cross-border collaboration essential for large-scale renewable projects.
