Mid Atlantic Spinal Rehab & Chiropractic Opens $1,000 Scholarship for Future Pain Relief Providers

Students across the United States who are pursuing careers dedicated to alleviating pain and enhancing health can now apply for the Pain Relief and Wellness Scholarship, a $1,000 award sponsored by Mid Atlantic Spinal Rehab & Chiropractic. The practice, which has provided chiropractic care and physical therapy in Baltimore, MD since 2012, will accept applications through August 31, 2027, with the recipient announced in September 2027.

"Every day, our doctors and staff see how much relieving pain can change a person's physical and mental health," said founder Dr. Marc Gulitz. "This scholarship lets us invest in a student who shares that purpose, whether they plan to become a chiropractor, a physical therapist, a nurse, or another provider focused on helping others recover."

The scholarship is open to students enrolled in accredited undergraduate, graduate, or professional programs in the United States, including community college students. High school seniors and GED holders who have been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited program also qualify. Applicants must hold a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 and submit an essay of 1,000 words or fewer explaining what inspired them to help people with pain, what they have done toward that goal, and how their education will help them achieve it, along with an updated resume and a current unofficial transcript. The scholarship is not limited to one field of study, but each essay must demonstrate a clear commitment to pain relief and wellness.

This announcement matters because it addresses a critical need in healthcare: fostering a pipeline of professionals dedicated to pain management and wellness. As the opioid crisis continues and demand for non-pharmacological treatments grows, scholarships like this encourage students to enter fields such as chiropractic, physical therapy, and nursing. The award not only eases the financial burden of education but also reinforces the importance of holistic, patient-centered care.

Dr. Gulitz holds a B.S. in molecular biology from Lehigh University and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College, and he serves on the board of the Maryland Chiropractic Association. Founded in Baltimore in 2012, the practice now has 14 chiropractors and serves patients across Baltimore City and five surrounding Maryland counties. The practice's services include chiropractic care, physical therapy, corrective exercises, spinal and postural screenings, and lifestyle advice.

For students in Long Beach and beyond, this scholarship represents an opportunity to contribute to a growing field that directly improves quality of life. By supporting future providers, Mid Atlantic Spinal Rehab & Chiropractic is investing in the next generation of pain relief specialists who will serve communities nationwide.
