Hong Kong Lighting Fairs to Illuminate Smart and Sustainable Lighting Trends in October

Long Beach, California – The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is set to host the 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo from late October. The Autumn Lighting Fair will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27 to 30 October, while the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will be held at AsiaWorld-Expo from 26 to 29 October. The twin events, themed "Beyond Illumination," will bring together some 3,000 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions, showcasing innovative lighting products and solutions that blend smart connectivity, healthy living, immersive spatial experiences, and sustainability.

For businesses in Long Beach and beyond, these fairs represent a critical opportunity to explore the latest advancements in lighting technology that can impact various industries. The Hall of Connected Lighting will feature around 70 leading global brands, including Dimon, Viliya, Inventronics, TUYA, Viso Systems, Casambi, and Signify. Global industry alliances such as the Connectivity Standards Alliance, DALI Alliance, SILA-EMN Alliance, and Zhaga Consortium will also be present, alongside KNX, the global standard for smart building and home automation, making its debut. This concentration of smart lighting expertise underscores the growing importance of interconnected systems in commercial and residential spaces.

A highlight of the fair is the collaboration between Signify and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, presenting a racing simulator experience that uses innovative lighting technologies to create an immersive environment. Additionally, Philips Sky professional lighting solutions will showcase VitaUp and BioUp technologies, which mimic natural sunlight for vitamin D production and adjust lighting to circadian rhythms, respectively. These innovations point to a future where lighting actively contributes to health and well-being, a trend that could influence building designs and workplace productivity.

The Autumn Lighting Fair will also launch a new LED Display Solution Zone, fostering a commercial LED display ecosystem. This zone will feature LED video walls, transparent and flexible LED panels, and integrated display solutions for retail, corporate, and virtual production applications. First-time exhibitor Ledman Hong Kong will present the QS Series IceScreen LED Display, deployed at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, and the LEDHUB Smart Conference Solution, winner of the 2025 TITAN Innovation Awards Gold Award. Such technologies are poised to transform visual communication and collaboration across industries.

Another spotlight, the Hall of Aurora, will feature some 500 renowned brands, including Prosperity Group, Profiled Group, Eaglerise, FSL, LEEDARSON, OPPLE, Lival, Cupower, and Beghelli. Hong Kong exhibitor Sunricher will present the award-winning Desktop Wizard, a portable smart home controller with modular buttons and multiple control modes, which has earned the Red Dot Design Award, iF Design Award, and German Design Award. These products exemplify the intersection of design and functionality that is driving consumer demand.

The Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will focus on smart city development with three thematic zones: Smart Pole and Solution, Landscape and Architectural Lighting, and Outdoor, Industrial and Technical Lighting. New photovoltaic and energy storage solutions, such as Lansine Intelligent (Zhongshan)'s LX‑LC01 energy storage power station and foldable solar panel series, will be showcased, providing green power for off-grid applications and emergency backup. These developments are crucial for cities aiming to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability.

The fairs will also host a rich programme of seminars and forums, including the Innovative Lighting Design Forum, the IES Illumination Awards highlights, and a debut event on Circularity in Lighting Design co-organised with Women in Lighting. The Connected Lighting Forum, with the Shanghai Pudong Intelligent Lighting Association, will explore human-centric lighting for emotional well-being. These sessions will feature renowned designers and industry experts, offering insights into the latest trends and technologies.

The innovations presented will not only shape the future of lighting but also impact related sectors such as real estate, healthcare, and urban planning.
