BarnPilot Expands Equestrian Command Center with Advanced Horse Monitoring Systems from Wellington

Wellington, Florida-based BarnPilot is advancing the future of horse monitoring with the introduction of the Watcher system and Sentinel program, designed to integrate supported barn cameras into a broader equestrian command center. Available on iPhone, iPad, and Android, the app aims to consolidate scattered information—schedules, health records, ride data, barn cameras, and communications—into a single, horse-centered platform.

Scott Morvay, founder and principal developer, spent years inside show jumping and experienced firsthand the fragmentation of tools. “I did not set out to build another app with a list of horse profiles,” Morvay said. “The schedule, records, ride, camera, and people responsible for the horse were all separated. I turned those problems into BarnPilot and kept building.”

The new monitoring experience begins with Camera Focus, a dedicated view for supported fixed barn cameras, allowing owners to check live feeds, see camera and monitoring status, connect horses to specific views, and review alerts without leaving the platform. Watcher provides ongoing awareness: Equine Watcher focuses on horse-specific activity, while Farm Watch monitors clearly visible people, vehicles, animals, and packages. Sentinel offers a focused watch for specific conditions. Users choose a camera, describe a situation, and set one exact visible condition or behavior to monitor for a 24-hour session. If supported camera imagery visibly matches the instruction, BarnPilot alerts the user to check in and decide next steps.

“Watcher is the ongoing watch; Sentinel is the focused watch,” Morvay explained. “With Sentinel, the owner defines the condition that matters in their own words. The system is not asked to make a medical judgment. It is asked to help watch for something specific and visible.” BarnPilot evaluates motion-triggered still images rather than continuous cloud video, and its monitoring features are informational—they do not diagnose medical conditions or replace in-person observation.

The significance of these systems lies in their integration with BarnPilot’s broader platform. Horse-centered records consolidate health, nutrition, schedules, shows, tack, documents, photos, and ride history. Ride Journal includes GPS-tracked rides and Loop Back to retrace routes. BarnPilot Navigator provides horse-specific navigation for trails and, where coverage is available, show rings, arenas, barns, gates, trailheads, and parking. Horse Prospects helps organize horse searches, trial rides, and professional findings. AI-assisted tools review records and bills, explain terminology, and help users prepare questions for their professional team.

Available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German, the app also features a live voice-translation workflow to facilitate communication across languages—crucial in an industry where riders, owners, trainers, grooms, and vets often coordinate quickly. Together, these systems form the BarnPilot equestrian command center, accessible at BarnPilot.

Wellington, Florida, is one of the world’s most concentrated equestrian communities, with demanding schedules that expose gaps in traditional tools. The environment shapes BarnPilot’s development. Local Navigator coverage includes equestrian destinations in Wellington, and guided onboarding is available for supported cameras in Wellington and Palm Beach County. “Wellington makes the need visible,” Morvay said. “This sport runs on skilled people, but too often those people are forced to work around fragmented technology.”

Looking ahead, BarnPilot is developing an equine-specific camera detection model and purpose-built camera hardware, with the long-term goal of designing the monitoring stack around horses from the beginning. A desktop experience is also in development. These projects are not yet available but signal a clear direction: moving from connected software into equestrian infrastructure. “The future of horse monitoring is not just another camera on a stall wall,” Morvay said. “It is a connected system that helps the right person see the right thing, with the horse’s wider context close at hand.”
